Punjab, Pakistan’s largest region, has implemented a smart lockdown to mitigate the high levels of smog by closing businesses and restricting movement. Lahore remains the most polluted city, with a thick, toxic fog causing respiratory issues for thousands.

The lockdown entails limitations on movement and economic activities, with schools and universities closed. Markets, gyms, and cinemas can operate after 3 pm. The northeastern region faces pollution, and individuals with respiratory conditions are urged to take precautions due to hazardous air quality levels. An Air Quality Index above 100 is considered unhealthy, posing risks of irritation and pulmonary issues.
