Pakistan cricket team head coach Mike Hesson has highlighted the importance of beginning the upcoming series on a positive note, reaffirming his commitment to elevating the team’s performance and improving their global rankings through consistent and smart cricket.

Speaking to the media in Lahore on Monday, Hesson outlined his vision for the national side, saying, “We will try to start the tour in a good way and improve our ranking by performing well in the series.”

He praised star batters Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan as pivotal to Pakistan’s white-ball strategy. “Babar and Rizwan are excellent players and are part of our white-ball plans. However, there are a few areas where they need to improve, and we are working on those aspects,” he added.

Looking ahead, Hesson expressed optimism about Pakistan’s prospects in the upcoming T20 World Cup. “We are trying to prepare well for the T20 World Cup and are very optimistic about performing strongly on the global stage,” he noted.

Commenting on Pakistan’s forthcoming series against Bangladesh, Hesson acknowledged the growth of the South Asian team. “The Bangladesh team is a great opponent and plays good cricket. We’re not taking them lightly,” he concluded.
