A former PE teacher has been permanently banned from teaching after engaging in a sexual encounter with a sixth form student during a night out.
According to international reports, 33-year-old Jake Green was employed at Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School in St Albans when the incident occurred in 2017. The encounter reportedly took place outside a nightclub, with both individuals under the influence.

Green claimed he thought the girl was a former student over 18 and was unaware she was still enrolled at the school. Despite his claims, a Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA) panel found him guilty of serious professional misconduct.
While the student chose not to pursue charges, the panel ruled that Green knowingly engaged in inappropriate conduct. He worked at the school from 2016 to 2019 before joining St Columba’s College. A 2022 anonymous tip led to an investigation and his subsequent suspension.
Police suggested the incident likely happened while the student was still attending the school, though Green may not have recognized her at the time.
The TRA has imposed an indefinite teaching ban on Green, with the possibility of review after five years. Green has since issued a statement expressing remorse, calling his actions “shameful” and a source of deep regret.
