Taylor Swift’s first Eras Tour concert in Milan encountered an unexpected interruption when the 34-year-old singer swallowed a bug during the secret songs portion of her performance at San Siro Stadium on Saturday, July 13.
Addressing the concerned crowd, Swift acknowledged the incident with her trademark humor, saying, “I knew it would happen ’cause there’s so many bugs here tonight.” She assured fans, “It’ll be fine, I just need to cough a little,” before seamlessly continuing her performance, which included a surprise mashup of “I Almost Do” and “The Moment I Knew.”

This wasn’t the first time bugs had made an appearance at Swift’s Eras Tour shows, as similar incidents occurred in London in June and Chicago in 2023.
Despite the bug incident, Swift’s Milan concert showcased a series of updates and surprises. Her Fearless era costume, featuring striking black and gold designs radiating from the center, drew attention and sparked speculation among fans about a possible announcement related to Reputation (Taylor’s Version).
For the 1989 segment of her performance, Swift debuted a new turquoise blue matching set, a fresh color choice for this part of the show. During the Tortured Poets Department segment, she appeared in a white gown adorned with cursive lyrics from “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”—a departure from her previous dress displaying “Fortnight” lyrics that read, “I love you, it’s ruining my life.”
Amidst these changes and memorable performances, the audience’s chant of “Sei Bellissima,” meaning “you are very beautiful” in Italian, visibly moved the 14-time Grammy winner, highlighting the deep affection and connection she shares with her international fan base.
