Sweden allows teenagers to drive at 30km/h without license.

Evelina Christiansen, 15, is too young to get a driver’s licence but is already driving a slick BMW in Sweden, where minors can operate any vehicle that has been slowed to the speed of a golf cart.

Under a nearly century-old rule that was originally intended for agricultural vehicles, children 15 and older are permitted to drive without a valid driver’s licence as long as the car has been modified to have a top speed of 30 km/h (18.6 miles per hour).

These vehicles, known as “A-traktors” (Swedes commonly use the earlier abbreviation “EPA”), have grown in popularity in recent years to the point where authorities are concerned about an increase in traffic accidents.
