Super Flu AH3 Cases Reportedly Confirmed in Rawalpindi

Health authorities have confirmed the detection of AH3 flu cases in the Rawalpindi division, leading officials to strengthen monitoring and surveillance measures, according to a local media report aired on Monday.

The Health Department stated that the situation remains stable and fully under control, with no signs of widespread transmission at this stage. During the current month, medical teams examined 22 individuals suspected of carrying the virus. Laboratory testing confirmed four positive cases of the AH3 flu strain.

Officials revealed that three of the confirmed cases were reported in Rawalpindi, while one case emerged from Murree. Encouragingly, all affected individuals responded well to timely medical care and have since made full recoveries, easing immediate concerns over severe outcomes.

Given the potentially serious nature of the AH3 flu, health authorities have placed the virus under close observation. As part of precautionary measures, contact tracing was carried out to monitor individuals who had been in close contact with infected patients. During this process, one secondary positive case was identified and managed promptly.

Despite these findings, officials emphasized that there is currently no evidence of extensive spread within the Rawalpindi district. They reassured the public that health teams are actively monitoring the situation and are prepared to respond swiftly should additional cases be detected.

Health authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant and strictly follow preventive guidelines to reduce the risk of further transmission. These include maintaining physical distance when experiencing flu-like symptoms, washing hands frequently with soap or sanitizer, and observing proper respiratory and personal hygiene.
