Peshawar witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday when a suicide bomber targeted a police mobile near the cattle market within the jurisdiction of Chamkani police station. The attack led to the martyrdom of two police officials and injuries to five others, including civilians.
According to police sources, the blast took place when officers intercepted a suspicious man during a routine patrol. As the police approached to search him, the individual detonated explosives strapped to his body, causing a powerful explosion that shook the area.

SP Rural Mukhtiar Khan confirmed to the media that it was a premeditated suicide attack. He stated that the patrolling officers had identified the suspect and attempted to question him when he carried out the explosion. A preliminary bomb disposal report suggested that approximately four to five kilograms of explosives were used.
The injured, including two police personnel and three civilians, were promptly moved to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities have recovered body parts of the suicide bomber and sent them for forensic testing to determine his identity and affiliations. The SHO of Chamkani police station has formally requested the Counter Terrorism Department to register a case under the Anti-Terrorism Act and other relevant laws.
