A suicide blast at the Islamabad Kachehri in G-11 killed 12 people and injured more than two dozen, authorities reported on Tuesday. Islamabad police stated they had recovered the head of the suicide bomber.
Police teams quickly secured the area and began investigating the vehicle involved and the cause of the explosion, including whether any safety protocols were breached. The injured were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, with no additional casualties reported so far.
A state of emergency has been declared at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where 12 victims have been admitted and more are being transported via ambulances and police vehicles. Medical teams are providing urgent care, while police manage the crowd to ensure hospital safety.
