Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan is facing legal scrutiny over a controversial land deal in Alibaug, Maharashtra, Indian media reported.
Suhana, who is preparing for her big-screen debut in King, reportedly bought agricultural land worth ₹12.91 crore in Thal village. The property, however, had been allocated by the government for farming use only, raising concerns about the legality of the purchase.
According to reports, the land was purchased from three sisters — Anjali, Rekha, and Priya — who inherited it from their parents. At the time of the transaction, Suhana allegedly paid a stamp duty of ₹77.46 lakh.
Officials said the registered documents listed Suhana as a farmer, a claim that has sparked questions. Under Maharashtra law, non-farmers are generally restricted from buying agricultural land. The property was registered under Deja Vu Farm Pvt Ltd, a company owned by Gauri Khan’s mother and sister-in-law.
Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh has instructed the Alibaug Tehsildar to prepare an impartial report on the matter. This was Suhana Khan’s first land deal in Alibaug. Within a year, she reportedly acquired another beachfront property worth ₹10 crore. Her combined land investments in the area have reached ₹22 crore between 2023 and 2024.
The scrutiny has fueled debate over whether rules were bypassed to complete the transaction. Authorities are now reviewing the documents to determine if any laws were broken.
The case has put Suhana Khan in the spotlight ahead of her much-awaited acting debut. Legal experts suggest that if violations are proven, the land deal could face cancellation or penalties.
For now, officials continue to investigate the transactions, while the controversy adds new pressure to the star family’s public image.
