Sarfaraz Nawaz, the former Pakistani fast bowler, has strongly criticized the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and called for a significant overhaul of its selection committee following recent controversies. He lambasted the committee’s collective decision-making process, particularly their consensus-driven approach to team selection ahead of the World Cup.
Nawaz had previously warned PCB officials about Wahab Riaz’s alleged administrative shortcomings and past issues, which he claims were ignored. He now asserts that the removal of Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq from the selection committee vindicates his concerns.

Advocating for reform, Sarfaraz Nawaz proposes reducing the selection committee’s size dramatically to just three members. He believes this restructuring is essential to improve decision-making within the PCB and ensure more effective team selections in the future.
In terms of leadership, Nawaz supports Shan Masood for leading the Test team and Mohammad Rizwan for the white-ball formats. He cites Rizwan’s successful track record as a captain in domestic and franchise cricket as evidence of his suitability for these roles.
