The Sindh government has rolled out stricter fines in Karachi for traffic violations, including one-way rule breaches and unlicensed driving. The decision was taken during a meeting led by Sindh Home and Law Minister Zia Lanjar as part of amendments to the Motor Vehicles Rules.
As per the new penalties, government vehicles breaking one-way rules will face a Rs. 200,000 fine, private vehicles Rs. 100,000, and motorcycles Rs. 25,000. Driving without a valid license will incur Rs. 25,000 for motorcyclists and Rs. 50,000 for car drivers.

The meeting also approved third-party fitness testing for all vehicles, a ban on four-seater rickshaws, and required prior approval for two-seater rickshaws. Additional rules include mandatory trackers in water tankers and dumpers, and at least five cameras in freight carriers.
Fines for dangerous stunts like one-wheeling and drifting start at Rs. 100,000 and can rise to Rs. 300,000 for repeat offenses.
