Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially launched the highly anticipated “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” housing scheme, designed to provide affordable housing and loan options to citizens across the province.
Launch Event
During the inauguration in Lahore, the Chief Minister emphasized the critical need for secure housing, pointing out that those with stable accommodations often fail to understand the struggles faced by people without homes.
Implementation of the Scheme
The “CM Punjab Apni Chat Apna Ghar” housing project plans to construct over 3,000 homes in each district of Punjab, ensuring equitable distribution of resources. The first phase of the scheme will focus on five cities: Multan, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Sargodha, and Rawalpindi. In Lahore, 5,000 homes are planned near Raiwind Road.
The housing initiative primarily targets low- and middle-income families, offering them the chance to own affordable, permanent homes.
Affordable Payment Plans
One of the standout features of the scheme is its affordability. Each apartment is priced at Rs. 1.5 million, with the government subsidizing 60% of the cost, leaving residents to pay only 40%. This amount can be broken down into monthly instalments of Rs. 26,000 over five years, making homeownership accessible to families with limited incomes.
Application Process
To simplify the application process, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) has developed an online portal (acag.punjab.gov.pk), where citizens can register, track, and manage their applications. Additionally, a helpline (0800-09100) is available to address any queries.

Social Impact and Benefits
The “Apni Chat Apna Ghar” program aims to address not only the housing crisis but also promote socio-economic development across Punjab. By fostering homeownership, the project is expected to uplift living standards and combat homelessness. The government’s inclusive development focus is geared toward ensuring that every citizen has the opportunity to benefit.
At the inauguration, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif remarked, “This project is not just about building houses; it’s about building futures, ensuring stability, and providing the people of Punjab with a sense of security that comes with having a place to call home.”
