State Department Confirms Reviewing Hamas's Response

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]The US is currently reviewing Hamas’s response to a ceasefire proposal and is engaging with regional partners regarding it.

State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller confirmed the review and mentioned CIA Director Bill Burns’ involvement in real-time efforts in the region. While declining to characterize Hamas’s response, Miller emphasized US support for a ceasefire deal to stop the conflict and release hostages.

The US administration also urged Israel not to attack Rafah following evacuation orders, expressing concerns about the humanitarian impact and potential civilian casualties.

Miller stated that the US had not seen a credible and implementable humanitarian plan for Rafah and warned that a military operation there could worsen the suffering of Palestinians and lead to more civilian deaths.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
