Ahmed noted that the State Bank is conducting a comprehensive technical evaluation of the new designs. He stated, “The redesigned notes will be printed and circulated in phases. The first redesigned note is set for release in 2025, though the initial denominations remain undisclosed.”

He further confirmed that the proposed designs will soon be submitted to the federal cabinet for approval. Once approved, the State Bank will commence printing and distribution.

The governor assured that the phased rollout approach will allow for a smooth transition, with denominations being released sequentially instead of simultaneously.
