State Bank Confirms Rs. 75 Blue And Green Banknotes As Valid

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has made it clear that, as per Section 25 of the State Bank of Pakistan Act, 1956, all banknotes, including commemorative notes issued by the SBP, are recognized as legal tender throughout Pakistan for the specified amount and bear the guarantee of the Federal Government.

The central bank’s statement affirms that the Rs. 75 banknote, mainly green, introduced on August 14, 2022, to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan’s Independence, and the Rs. 75 banknote, mainly blue, issued on July 04, 2023, to commemorate the 75th anniversary of SBP’s establishment, are both considered legal tender nationwide.

These banknotes are fully valid for use as a medium of exchange, facilitating settlements of both private and public obligations. Additionally, the SBP and all commercial banks are obligated to issue and accept these banknotes from the public.
