PCB thinks to replace Babar Azam as Test captain.

PCB thinks to replace Babar Azam as Test captain.

According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is debating whether Babar Azam should continue as captain of the national team in just one format. Due to his recent underwhelming performance in the home series Tests against New Zealand, England, and Australia, this option is being taken into consideration.

At the conclusion of the home season, decisions about the captaincy and the head coach’s and bowling coach’s terms are anticipated. Another link in this chain is the choice by Interim Chairman Najam Sethi to designate Shan Masood the vice-captain and the decision to lessen Babar Azam’s impact in all three forms.

Even earlier, there were rumours that the national cricket team could have individual captains for each of the three formats. Shan Masood is a leading candidate to succeed Babar Azam as the ODI and test cricket captain of the Pakistan Cricket Team. The Pakistan Cricket Board anticipates making some significant decisions in the near future about the captain, coach, bowling coach, and support staff.
