The deceased were identified as 12-year-old Aima, 10-year-old Hafiza, 45-year-old Rafaqat, 41-year-old Dawood Ahmed, and an unidentified 24-year-old man. The incident sparked concerns over heavy vehicle safety in congested city areas, especially during peak hours. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine if mechanical failure or negligence caused the crash.

In related news, Punjab Emergency Services reported over 1,200 road accidents in the past 24 hours province-wide, with Lahore alone accounting for 240 crashes. These figures underline the urgent need for stricter traffic enforcement.

In response, Lahore traffic police have introduced tougher measures against traffic violations, including immediate FIRs for one-way violations, unregistered motorcycle rickshaws, overloaded vehicles, and illegal road encroachments, aiming to improve road safety and reduce accidents.
