Most of the deaths occurred in Valencia, where at least 155 lives were lost, with additional fatalities reported in Castilla-La Mancha and Andalusia. Over 90 deaths were recorded on Wednesday alone as flash floods swept through several areas.

The public has voiced frustration, criticizing the government for not issuing timely warnings to communities about the impending flood risk. This tragic toll marks Spain’s deadliest flood disaster since 1973, when over 150 people lost their lives.
