South Africa suffered a setback ahead of their upcoming tour of Pakistan as young fast bowler Kwena Maphaka was ruled out due to injury. The left-arm pacer sustained a hamstring strain during training and is expected to be out for nearly a month.

The injury means Maphaka will miss the entire white-ball leg of the Pakistan series, which includes three T20 Internationals and three ODIs. The T20Is are scheduled from October 28 to November 1, while the ODI series will begin on November 4.

Team management confirmed that replacement players have been called up to fill the gap. Ottneil Baartman is likely to feature in the T20 squad, while Lizaad Williams is expected to step into the ODI lineup.

The absence of Maphaka is a major blow for South Africa’s bowling unit, as the young pacer has impressed with his pace and control. His consistent performances had made him one of the most promising bowlers in the squad.

Cricket experts believe South Africa will now rely heavily on senior bowlers to lead the attack against Pakistan. The team will hope to maintain momentum despite the injury setback.

The Pakistan series holds importance for both sides as they prepare for upcoming ICC events. Fans are eager to see how South Africa adapts to these changes during the high-stakes tour.
