The price of solar panels in Pakistan has dropped to a historic low of Rs. 30-32 per Watt, driven by an oversupply in the local market and a decrease in international rates. This reduction is largely attributed to a nearly 50% fall in the price of lithium batteries over the past year, which has influenced domestic solar panel prices.

Despite this, the cost of dry batteries remains relatively high, as importers have not reduced their prices for local buyers. Since 2023, Pakistan’s solar energy market has expanded significantly, with increased imports from China meeting the growing demand for net metering. Rising electricity costs have prompted many consumers to switch to more affordable and reliable solar energy options.
