Solar Battery Prices Fall Following Historic Drop in Solar Panel Cost

In a positive development for consumers, the prices of solar batteries have seen a significant drop following a major decrease in solar panel prices in Pakistan.

Dealers are reporting a 20% reduction in the cost of solar batteries. For instance, the price of a lithium solar battery, which was previously 450,000 PKR, has now been reduced to 380,000 PKR. Similarly, the cost of tubular batteries has decreased from 70,000 PKR to 55,000 PKR.

The price of solar panels has also fallen further, with the per-watt cost reaching a new low of 28 PKR. Attempts by major importers to raise the price to 33 PKR per watt have been unsuccessful. In addition, sales of solar panels in Punjab have slowed due to smog and cold weather, leading some brands to lower the prices of solar inverters by 3% to 5%.

This drop in prices comes as more people across the country are turning to solar energy, driven by rising temperatures, expensive electricity, and frequent power outages. The reduction in prices is expected to make solar energy more accessible to a larger number of households, offering a sustainable and cost-effective energy solution.
