Soha Ali Khan Shares Story Of Independence Over Privilege

Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan has shared new insights into her early career. Despite coming from the royal Pataudi family, she revealed that she started her journey in Mumbai by living in a rented apartment.

Soha Ali Khan is the daughter of legendary actress Sharmila Tagore and former cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. She is also the sister of actor Saif Ali Khan. While her background was privileged, Soha wanted to build a life of her own.

After completing her master’s degree from the London School of Economics, Soha worked at an international bank. Her annual salary was Rs 220,000. From that, she paid Rs 17,000 every month as rent.

She said a big part of her earnings went towards living expenses. However, financial independence was more important to her than comfort. Soha Ali Khan shared that earning her own money helped her make her own life decisions.

Later, she decided to shift from finance to films. At first, her parents were unsure about her career choice. But her independence gave her the confidence to follow her passion.

Her turning point came with a modelling assignment that paid Rs 500,000. Soon after, she made her Bollywood debut in Dil Maange More, opposite Shahid Kapoor. For the role, she earned Rs 1 million.

Since then, Soha Ali Khan has appeared in several films across different genres. She continues to be active in the film industry.

She believes her journey shows that independence and self-reliance matter more than family background. Her story is an example of choosing personal growth over privilege.
