Winter has arrived in full force in the upper regions of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa as snowfall blankets the northern areas, plunging temperatures below freezing. The first snowfall of the season has brought a cold wave to the region, with Tirah Valley and Chitral among the worst affected. Local communities face significant disruptions, particularly in transportation, as heavy snow blocks key roads.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) is actively working to restore access by clearing snow-blocked roads. Temperatures in some areas have dipped below zero, adding to the challenges for residents and travelers alike. Meanwhile, in Peshawar, the capital city of the province, cloudy skies loom over a chilly morning, with a recorded temperature of 5°C, though the chances of rainfall are minimal.
