Snowfall at Babusar Pass Draws Tourists in Large Numbers

Fresh snowfall at Babusar Pass has attracted a large number of tourists, turning the scenic mountain route into a winter attraction. Visitors from different parts of the country reached the area to enjoy snow-covered peaks, chilly weather, and breathtaking natural views.

Babusar Pass, which connects Gilgit-Baltistan with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kaghan Valley, received moderate to heavy snowfall, significantly lowering temperatures. Snow blanketed roads, hills, and surrounding landscapes, creating picturesque scenes that quickly spread across social media platforms.

Tourists were seen taking photographs, making snowmen, and enjoying family outings despite the cold conditions. Many visitors said the snowfall provided a rare opportunity to experience winter tourism, especially for those traveling from warmer regions of the country.

Local hotel owners and shopkeepers reported a noticeable increase in visitors following the snowfall. Business activity in nearby areas improved as tourists booked hotels, hired local transport, and purchased food and warm clothing from markets.

Authorities advised travelers to remain cautious, warning that slippery roads and reduced visibility could pose risks. Traffic police urged tourists to use chains on tyres, avoid night travel, and follow official advisories to prevent accidents in the mountainous terrain.

Babusar Pass often becomes a popular destination during snowfall, but officials stressed the importance of safety and responsible tourism. They said arrangements were in place to manage traffic flow and assist travelers if weather conditions worsen further.
