SNGPL Announces Ramadan Gas Supply Schedule for Punjab

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited on Tuesday released a revised gas distribution plan for consumers across Punjab ahead of Ramadan, outlining updated daily supply hours designed to support households during the holy month when demand typically rises due to cooking and pre-dawn meal preparations across the province.

Under the new schedule, gas will be available from 3:00am until 10:30pm each day, ensuring extended access compared with previous restricted timings. Officials said the plan aims to minimize disruptions and allow families to manage Sehri and Iftar preparations without facing prolonged shortages or unexpected supply suspensions during peak usage hours.

The announcement applies to major urban centers including Lahore as well as smaller towns and rural districts served by the utility network. Authorities emphasized that distribution teams have been instructed to maintain consistent pressure levels so consumers experience steady supply rather than fluctuating flow during critical cooking periods.

Company representatives stated that customers encountering low pressure or outages can report issues through the dedicated helpline 1199, which will remain active throughout Ramadan. Complaint centers and technical teams have been placed on alert to respond quickly, resolve faults, and restore service to affected neighborhoods as rapidly as possible.

Managing Director Amir Tufail said the company will not restrict gas availability only to peak cooking hours, adding that operational staff will work continuously to maintain uninterrupted supply within the announced timeframe. He noted that additional monitoring systems have been deployed to track demand patterns and prevent system overloads.

Officials explained that the revised plan is part of broader seasonal management measures introduced each year to balance domestic demand with available resources. Authorities urged consumers to use gas responsibly, avoid wastage, and report leaks or illegal connections, helping ensure fair distribution and stable supply for all households during Ramadan.
