Mohammad Ibrahim, a 6-year-old from Karachi, has made history by becoming the youngest martial arts player in the world to set a Guinness World Record. He broke the previous record of 40 bottle caps opened in one minute by using martial arts kicks, successfully opening 45 bottle caps. This achievement was recognized under a new Guinness World Records category. Mohammad Ibrahim is the son of Rashid Naseem, Pakistan’s most prolific martial arts master, who holds the most Guinness World Records. Rashid Naseem’s daughter also set a Guinness World Record at the age of 7.
Rashid Naseem expressed pride in his family’s achievements, emphasizing that 16 of his students have also set records. Despite challenges due to a lack of government support, he remains hopeful and dedicated to passing on his martial arts skills. Mohammad Ibrahim, the new youngest world record holder, hopes to be invited by Pakistan’s top officials, including the President, Prime Minister, and Governor of Sindh.

In another major sporting development, the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) announced that it will host the inaugural U23 World Squash Championship in 2025. Scheduled for April 6-10, 2025, the event will feature both men’s and women’s singles tournaments, with 32 players in each category competing for a share of the $60,000 prize fund and PSA ranking points. The championship is seen as an important step for emerging players, bridging the gap between junior and senior competitions. The World Squash Federation (WSF) has warmly welcomed the event, recognizing its potential to benefit the global squash community by offering young players a platform to compete at the highest level.
