The Sindh government has announced an ambitious Youth Card initiative designed to expand opportunities for young people across the province. The program aims to connect youth with education support, job pathways, training programs, scholarships, and sports facilities, signaling a major policy push focused on youth empowerment and long-term socioeconomic development.
The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting at the Sindh Secretariat chaired by Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mehr. Senior officials, including Secretary Sports Manwar Ali Mahesar, Director Asad Ishaq, and Chief Engineer Muhammad Aslam Mehr, reviewed implementation plans and discussed rollout timelines and administrative coordination.
Officials confirmed the project has been approved under special instructions from PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Authorities say preparations are progressing quickly, and the government intends to launch the Youth Card before June, aiming to ensure the province’s young population begins receiving benefits as soon as possible.
Speaking after the meeting, Minister Mehr said the initiative would guarantee maximum support for young citizens by linking them directly to resources that enhance education, employability, and personal development. He added that empowering youth remains a top government priority because they represent the province’s future workforce and leadership.
Policy analysts believe the Youth Card could become a transformative step if implemented effectively. They say such integrated programs help remove barriers faced by students and graduates, especially those from underserved communities, by simplifying access to financial assistance, training opportunities, and career-building platforms under a single framework.
While eligibility rules and final benefit details are still being finalized, officials emphasize that the scheme is designed to strengthen skills, expand job prospects, and encourage positive engagement in sports and education. Observers note the initiative could set a nationwide example if it successfully delivers measurable improvements in youth development.
