Sindh Government Introduces Watermarking System to Prevent Exam Cheating

The Sindh Government has decided to introduce a modern watermarking system to prevent cheating in Exam processes. The new system will help authorities trace leaked papers quickly and improve transparency across the province.

The decision was announced during a high-level meeting chaired by Ismail Rahu. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming Exam season. Officials from all educational boards attended and reviewed key arrangements.

Authorities discussed several important issues, including security at exam centers, availability of furniture, and uninterrupted electricity. Officials were also briefed on procurement processes and budget planning for the Exam system.

The minister confirmed that all exams will be conducted as per schedule. From April 7, more than 1.35 million students from grades 9 to 12 will appear in the Exam across over 1,600 centers in Sindh.

In Karachi, exams for grades 9 and 10 will begin on April 7. Exams for grades 11 and 12 will start on April 25. In Sukkur division, exams for grades 9 and 10 will begin on March 30, while higher classes will start from April 15.

To strengthen monitoring, a complaint cell will be established at the Secretary of Boards’ office. This cell will oversee the Exam process and support vigilance teams. Authorities aim to ensure strict supervision at all centers.

The government is also expanding the use of e-marking systems. Sukkur and Shaheed Benazirabad divisions will conduct all exams under e-marking. The Larkana Board will apply this system to selected papers, while Karachi will implement it partially.

Officials have also taken steps to improve facilities at exam centers. Instructions have been issued to ensure proper seating, drinking water, and electricity supply. Load shedding will be avoided during the Exam period.

Strict measures will be enforced to maintain discipline. Mobile phones will be banned inside centers, and Section 144 will be imposed. Authorities warned that strict action will be taken in case of paper leaks.
