Sindh Court Announces Working Hours for Ramadan 2026

The Sindh High Court (SHC) has announced revised court hours for Ramadan 2026, aiming to accommodate the holy month’s schedule. According to an official notification issued by the SHC on Saturday, court timings will be shortened during Ramadan.

From Monday to Thursday, courts will operate from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with a 30-minute break included in the schedule. On Fridays, judicial proceedings will be held continuously from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., without any breaks. The notification also stated that session courts throughout Sindh will follow similar Ramadan timings, functioning from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, preparations for Ramadan 2026 are underway across the country, with the first day of the holy month likely to be observed on February 19, 2026, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The Met Office forecasted that the Ramadan moon will be born on February 17 at 5:01 p.m., with the highest chances of sighting on the evening of February 18.

Experts noted that at sunset on February 18, the moon will be approximately 26 hours old, which is favorable for visibility. Sunset is expected at 6:25 p.m., and the moon will set around 7:24 p.m., providing sufficient time for observation. However, the Met Office cautioned that partly cloudy conditions in some areas may affect moon sighting, although the likelihood remains high, as the minimum age required for visibility is generally about 19 hours.

The announcement of court timings and the expected Ramadan moon sighting underscores the country’s preparations for Ramadan 2026, ensuring both judicial and social schedules are aligned with the holy month’s observances.
