The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has taken stringent measures against Bahria Town Karachi due to outstanding dues. This includes the suspension of Bahria Town Karachi’s ability to promote and sell properties. Additionally, legal action has been initiated against the owners, Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz Malik, for the non-payment of three checks, each amounting to Rs. 64,168,762.

The SBCA’s action stems from the failure of the real estate project’s developers to remit scrutiny fees to the regulatory body. However, the exact amount owed by Malik Riaz’s Bahria Town was not disclosed.

Moreover, Bahria Town did not respond to a show-cause notice regarding the dishonoring of their checks. T

he SBCA conveyed the withdrawal of the No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for advertising and selling their Karachi project to Bahria Town via written communication.

It’s worth noting that Bahria Town Karachi has been embroiled in controversies for several years, including a previous restriction on the sale of plots and residential units due to irregularities in the acquisition of land for Bahria Town Karachi from the Sindh government, as determined by a three-member Supreme Court bench.
