Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik has officially announced his departure from Karachi Kings, marking the end of his association with the franchise. In an emotional statement shared on X, Malik expressed his appreciation for his time with the team and its management, reflecting fondly on his two stints with the Kings.
“It has been a great experience playing for this amazing franchise and teammates,” Malik wrote. He also praised the team’s management, particularly Karachi Kings’ owner, Salman Iqbal, for their continued support and hospitality throughout his journey with the team.

As Malik bids farewell to the Kings, he is now setting his sights on the upcoming HBL PSL draft, where he looks forward to a fresh chapter in his PSL career. The HBL PSL draft will take place on January 11, 2025, in Gwadar, Balochistan, a significant milestone as the event will be hosted in the region for the first time.
The draft pick order has also been confirmed, with Lahore Qalandars securing the first pick in the platinum category, followed by Karachi Kings. Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and reigning champions Islamabad United will pick third to sixth, respectively.
