SHO and Three Cops Suspended for Harassing MPA’s Family

LAHORE – The SHO, duty officer, and four police personnel from Johar Town Police Station in Lahore have been suspended following a complaint by a PML-N Punjab Assembly member.

Reports indicate that the action was taken after MPA Shazia Abid raised concerns in the Punjab Assembly regarding police misconduct involving her son and niece.

According to Shazia Abid, her son and niece were returning from university when they were stopped and harassed by Johar Town police officers.

She further alleged that the officers demanded a bribe of Rs200,000.

Upon discovering that the boy’s mother was a provincial assembly member, the police allegedly attempted to intimidate them before eventually letting them go.
