The minister criticised the former prime minister and leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a series of tweets for making careless comments about crucial matters of public concern. Added Sherry Rehman, “Imran Khan, a former prime minister, isn’t speaking for Pakistan; he’s speaking for someone else. Imran Khan is as familiar with the topography of Germany and Japan as he is with the security concerns and history of the area.” She criticised the fact that Imran Khan, whose administration caused Pakistan to suffer from international isolation, was now advising Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on international matters.
Sherry Rehman claimed that the eight months of diplomatic success for Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto were insignificant in comparison to Imran Khan’s four years of diplomatic exile. She said, “Imran Khan has gotten the nation into a diplomatic mess. During his remarks at the conference, the PTI chairman had asserted that insufficient police resources prevented them from putting up a fight against well-armed terrorists who were armed with automatic guns.
The minister responded to Khan’s comments by saying, “Our law enforcement forces are our first line of defence and are on the front lines in the fight against terrorism.” She continued by saying that Imran Khan has also denigrated Pakistan’s valiant cops. It is unfortunate that Imran Khan is discouraging the cops rather than supporting them, Sherry Rehman stated.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
