Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Quetta on a one-day visit, where he was warmly received by provincial leadership. The visit focused on development initiatives and governance projects across Balochistan.
At the airport, the prime minister was welcomed by Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti. During the visit, Shehbaz Sharif is set to meet political leaders and review progress on major projects in the provincial capital.
Officials said several projects will be inaugurated or launched during the visit. These include the Daanish School project and ongoing development work on the N-25 highway. Additional uplift schemes are also scheduled under the federal government’s development agenda for Balochistan.
After arriving, Shehbaz Sharif visited the Governor House, where Governor Jafar Khan Mandokhel formally received him. A guard of honour was presented to the prime minister as part of the official reception.
A high-level meeting was held between the prime minister, Governor Mandokhel, and Chief Minister Bugti. The discussion covered provincial affairs, ongoing development projects, and governance challenges. Several senior federal ministers, including Ahsan Iqbal, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Rana Sanaullah, attended the meeting. Local political leaders also joined the discussion to provide input on development priorities and long-term governance strategies.
Officials said Shehbaz Sharif’s visit highlights the federal government’s commitment to accelerating development in Balochistan. The engagement with provincial leadership aims to strengthen infrastructure, improve public services, and ensure better coordination between Islamabad and Quetta.
The visit is expected to boost ongoing development projects and support long-term stability in the province. Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of collaboration between federal and provincial authorities to achieve sustainable growth.
