Shehbaz Meets Trump, Highlights Strengthened Security And Intelligence Ties

Prime Minister Shehbaz, accompanied by Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, held a high-level meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House on Friday.

The discussion, which lasted 55 minutes, focused on regional security, peace in South Asia, the Gaza crisis, and enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President JD Vance also attended the meeting.

The Prime Minister’s Office described the meeting as “warm and cordial.” Shehbaz praised Trump as a “man of peace” and appreciated his role in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India. The leaders also discussed the ongoing conflict in Gaza and Trump’s efforts to engage Muslim world leaders for dialogue.

Economic cooperation was another key topic. Shehbaz thanked Trump for the tariff arrangement finalized earlier this year and invited American companies to invest in Pakistan’s agriculture, IT, energy, and mining sectors. He expressed confidence that bilateral ties would strengthen under Trump’s leadership.

Regional security and counter-terrorism were also discussed. Shehbaz highlighted Pakistan’s efforts in fighting terrorism and stressed the importance of enhanced security and intelligence collaboration between the two nations.

Following the White House meeting, Shehbaz and Field Marshal Munir traveled to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly. The Prime Minister is expected to address key issues including the Kashmir situation, Indian aggression, the Palestinian crisis, rising terrorism, Islamophobia, and the impact of climate change on Pakistan.

This meeting marked the third interaction between Shehbaz and Trump in just three days, setting a record for a Pakistani leader. Officials from both sides plan to continue discussions on trade, counter-terrorism, and regional stability.

The meeting highlighted the growing strategic partnership between Pakistan and the United States. Shehbaz and Trump emphasized peace, stability, and stronger bilateral cooperation as priorities for the coming months.
