The committee convened in Islamabad, chaired by Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, while zonal committees held meetings at their respective provincial headquarters. Experts from the Pakistan Meteorological Department also participated.

Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad led the meeting at the Kohsar Complex before officially declaring the sighting of the moon, heralding the commencement of Eidul Fitr 2024.
The sighting of the Shawwal moon marks the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and the beginning of Eidul Fitr festivities.
According to the Meteorological Office, there are strong indications that Eid will fall on April 10, Wednesday, as the Shawwal moon is expected to be visible on April 9.
The Pakistani government has already declared an extended public holiday period from April 10 to 12 for Eidul Fitr 2024.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eidul Fitr 2024 on Wednesday, April 10, as the Shawwal moon was not sighted on Monday.
The committee urged individuals who spot the Shawwal crescent to report their sighting to the nearest court or contact the nearest center to assist in reaching the court.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
