Shawwal Moon Sighted Across Various Regions of Pakistan

The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has confirmed the sighting of the Shawwal moon, signaling the end of Ramadan and the start of Eid ul Fitr 2025.

The announcement came after moon sightings were reported across the country, with Maulana Abdul Khabeer presiding over the committee’s meeting in Islamabad and zonal committees confirming reports from provincial capitals.

Meanwhile, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) announced uninterrupted gas supply in Sindh, including Karachi, during Eid holidays. The decision will be effective from Chand Raat until the third day of Eid.

In Islamabad, over 3,500 police officers have been deployed for patrolling and crime prevention during Eid. Additionally, 500 traffic officers are assigned to regulate traffic, particularly for tourists traveling to Murree.

Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi outlined a comprehensive Eid security plan, including 18 checkpoints at city entry and exit points to monitor movement.

Authorities will also crack down on street crime, reckless behavior, and aerial firing to ensure public safety. Parks like Lake View and Daman-e-Koh have been designated as family zones for a safe and festive atmosphere.
