Shan Masood

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]Shan Masood, a top-order batsman for Multan Sultans in Pakistan’s eighth Pakistan Super League (PSL), claimed that he and other players are willing to sacrifice their lives for Babar Azam.

In an interview with a private TV network, Shan said that Babar has the support of all the players.

The batter declared, “We were prepared to sacrifice our lives when Sarfaraz Ahmed served as our captain, and now we are prepared to sacrifice our lives for Babar Azam.

Shan stated that the leader comes first while discussing the criticism of the captain and the Pakistani team. We frequently see news reports criticising the squad, but we don’t let them upset us because we all want to represent Pakistan, he continued.

Shan said that Shaheen Shah Afridi was his favourite bowler and claimed that it was difficult to avoid his first-over bowling.

Shaheen is currently the best bowler in the world, so surviving his first over while simultaneously hitting a six indicates that you are playing exceptionally well, he remarked.

Shan wanted to see a PSL final between his squad and the Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars, who are presently ranked first in the competition and the PSL 7 champion.

Babar’s criticism

Babar receives a lot of flak for his poor T20 cricket strike rate. His captaincy decisions on the field have also drawn criticism from certain cricket analysts and fans.

Under Babar’s leadership, Pakistan also failed to win a single Test match at home last year and suffered a 2-1 defeat to New Zealand in a three-match ODI series earlier this year.

Nonetheless, the right-handed batter guided Pakistan to the semifinals of back-to-back T20 World Championships in 2021 and 2022, when they ultimately ended as runners-up.

Shahid Afridi, a legendary cricketer, recently stated that the Peshawar Zalmi captain has not “shown himself a match-winner” yet.

Babar is the best player in the world, according to Afridi, who recently served as the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) interim top selector, but he has “still to put on some match-winning performances,” according to Afridi.

Earlier, Babar received criticism for his oratory abilities from former seamer Shoaib Akhtar, well known as the Rawalpindi Express for his lightning-quick bowling. Babar, according to Akhtar, hasn’t succeeded in building a “brand” in Pakistan.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
