Pakistan’s leading snooker players, Shahid Aftab and Muhammad Asif, have progressed to the knockout rounds of the IBSF World Masters Snooker Championship in Bahrain.
On the tournament’s second day, Shahid Aftab showcased remarkable form by defeating India’s Manan Chandra in his final group match without dropping a single frame. He sealed a commanding 3-0 victory with frame scores of 90-17, 59-46, and 105-46.
Meanwhile, Muhammad Asif encountered a tough contest against Indian cueist Brijesh Damani in his group-stage finale. Asif lost the match 3-0, with Damani taking the frames 66-39, 66-0, and 79-41.
Despite the setback, both Aftab and Asif have secured spots in the tournament’s knockout stage. Shahid Aftab advanced directly to the pre-quarterfinals, while Muhammad Asif progressed among the top 22 competitors.
The ongoing IBSF World Masters Snooker Championship continues to feature strong international competition as players aim for the coveted title in Bahrain.
