May 9 Case Jail Trial Of Shah Mehmood, Yasmin Rashid Ends

The jail trial of the May 9 Sherpao Bridge arson case has ended in Lahore’s Anti-Terrorism Court. The final statements of all accused have been recorded.

Senior PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi was among the main accused in this case. Dr Yasmin Rashid and other party members also faced trial. The case relates to incidents of arson and vandalism on Sherpao Bridge following political unrest on May 9.

The trial took place inside jail premises due to security concerns. Authorities ensured strict safety protocols throughout the proceedings.

Police from the Sarwar Road Police Station had submitted the case challan earlier. The investigation covered damage caused to public property during the protests. Shah Mehmood and others were accused of inciting or taking part in the violent acts.
