A major diplomatic success has brought relief across Pakistan as former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad Khan has been released from Israeli custody and safely reached the Pakistan Embassy in Amman.
Khan was detained during the Global Samud Flotilla mission, which aimed to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. Reports suggest he faced harsh conditions and humiliation while imprisoned. In protest, he began a hunger strike that gained international attention and pressured Israeli authorities.
Upon his arrival in Jordan, Mushtaq Ahmad Khan declared that “the resistance continues,” showing unwavering resolve despite his ordeal.
Diplomatic officials confirmed that he is in good health and high spirits. The Pakistan Embassy in Amman stated that arrangements are being made for his return home, thanking the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and allied nations for their efforts in securing his release.
The Global Samud Flotilla, which departed from Barcelona last month, was attacked by Israeli forces while attempting to deliver aid to famine-hit Gaza. The incident led to widespread condemnation after Israel detained several participants, including Swedish activist Greta Thunberg and 170 other pro-Palestinian supporters, later deported to Europe.
Khan’s courage and steadfastness have turned him into a symbol of resistance, inspiring solidarity and admiration across Pakistan and the international community.
