Section 144 Enforced In South Waziristan To Maintain Law And Order

The government has imposed Section 144 in Birmal tehsil of South Waziristan Lower for one day due to security concerns. The restrictions will be in place from 6 am to 7 pm on Monday.

During the enforcement of Section 144, all forms of movement will be banned to maintain peace and order. The Home Department has issued a notification outlining the rules and restrictions for residents.

All markets, including the popular Raghzai Bazaar, will remain closed during this period. Travel on key routes such as Angoor Adda, Zam China, Khamrang, Raghzai, and Sholam to Wana will also be prohibited.

The authorities have made an exception for emergency travel, but only after prior permission is obtained from security forces. This ensures that necessary movements can continue without compromising security.

Citizens have been advised to stop their vehicles at least 100 metres away if they spot any vehicle belonging to security forces. This directive is meant to avoid any misunderstandings or security risks during the operation.

The enforcement of Section 144 is a preventive step to control the situation amid the increased movement of security forces in the area. The government is committed to ensuring public safety and preventing any untoward incidents.

Section 144 is a legal measure often used to prohibit gatherings and control movement in sensitive areas. It helps law enforcement maintain order during times of potential unrest or security threats.

Residents of Birmal tehsil and surrounding areas are urged to follow the restrictions and cooperate with authorities during this period. The government will review the situation after the end of the enforcement.
