SECP Hikes Fees for Company Registration Significantly

SECP Increases Fees for Document Submission by Companies

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) has significantly raised the fees for submitting documents across various categories of companies. This adjustment is part of an amendment to the Seventh Schedule of the Companies Act 2017, as outlined in SRO 1806(I)/2024.

Key fee changes include:

  1. Electronic Document Submission:
  • For companies with a nominal share capital not exceeding Rs. 100,000, the fee for electronic submission of registration documents has increased from Rs. 1,100 to Rs. 5,500.
  1. Manual Document Submission:
  • For the same category of companies, the manual submission fee has been raised from Rs. 2,200 to Rs. 10,000.
  1. Fee for Name Reservation:
  • The fee for reserving a company name has also increased. For electronic submission, the fee has been raised from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,000, while the manual submission fee has gone up from Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,000.
  1. Group Company Registration:
  • A new fee of Rs. 100,000 has been imposed for both electronic and manual submissions of documents for the registration of companies as a group under regulations 138/140 of the Companies Regulations 2024.

These changes are part of the SECP’s efforts to update its fee structure, reflecting increased administrative costs and enhancing its service delivery. The new fees are expected to impact businesses applying for company registration, name reservation, and group registration.
