Second Rocket Attack Hits MNA Mubarak Zeb Khan’s Residence in Bajaur

A rocket attack struck the residence of Prime Minister’s Special Assistant and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Mubarak Zeb Khan in Bajaur during the early hours of Saturday, marking the second such incident in less than a month. The attack occurred around 1am and caused partial damage to the main entrance of the home, according to security officials.

District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafique confirmed the incident and said that police and law enforcement agencies quickly reached the site, cordoned off the area, and launched a detailed investigation. Forensic teams are examining the scene to determine the nature and source of the attack.

“This is not the first time Mr Khan’s house has been targeted,” a senior police official stated, recalling a previous attack on May 14 in which an explosion damaged the main gate but caused no injuries. As with the earlier incident, no casualties were reported this time.

The recurrence of such attacks has heightened security concerns in the region. Intelligence and law enforcement agencies have intensified surveillance and investigations in an effort to trace those behind the assaults. Security in the area has also been stepped up.

Mubarak Zeb Khan, a prominent figure from the ruling party, is known for his active role in local politics and development projects across Bajaur—a region that has experienced sporadic violence due to its location near Pakistan’s former tribal areas.
