Search Operation For Missing Tourists In Babusar Enters Tenth Consecutive Day

Rescue teams continue their efforts in Thak Babusar and Chilas as the search for missing tourists enters its tenth day. The operation faces difficulties due to adverse weather conditions in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. A system of western clouds has brought rain and reduced visibility, hampering rescue activities.

Authorities have temporarily suspended vehicle entry towards Deosai National Park because of deteriorating weather and light rainfall in higher areas. Officials say this measure is necessary to ensure safety during ongoing search efforts.

Meanwhile, a violent thunderstorm hit the Wanhār area of Kallar Kahar overnight, affecting four villages: Ransiyal, Chak Misri, Sardhi, and Buchal Khurd. The storm caused significant damage by uprooting solar panels, toppling electricity poles, and damaging homes. Power outages and mobile network disruptions remain in these areas due to the storm’s impact.

In Azad Kashmir’s Bhimber district, continuous rainfall has triggered flooding in local streams and nullahs. Authorities have issued a flash flood alert and banned bathing in affected streams. They also advised people to avoid unnecessary travel in the region. The Deputy Commissioner warned that drivers entering flooded areas will face arrest and urged residents to stay away from landslide-prone zones.

Gujrat city also experienced heavy rain, resulting in waterlogging on major roads such as Jail Chowk, Kutchery Chowk, Hassan Chowk, and Court Road. The flooding has caused severe traffic disruptions and difficulties for residents in many neighborhoods.

The ongoing search for the missing tourists remains a top priority for rescue teams. Officials continue to coordinate efforts despite weather challenges. Authorities urge the public to stay cautious and cooperate with safety guidelines during this time.

Further updates will be provided as the search progresses and weather conditions improve.
