SBP produces Rs50 commemorative coin in honour of Golden Jubilee of Senate.

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text dp_text_size=”size-4″]ISLAMABAD: The State Bank of Pakistan produced a Rs50 commemorative coin on Friday to honour the golden jubilee of the Senate, Pakistan’s Upper House of Parliament.

The Senate will celebrate its golden jubilee in 2023, and the federal government has authorised the central bank to manufacture a Rs50 commemorative coin, according to a statement from the SBP.

The Senate of Pakistan is the upper legislative house of Pakistan’s bicameral parliament, with equal representation from all provinces, and it is a permanent Parliament by constitution.

From March 17, 2023, the coin will be distributed through the exchange counters of all SBP Financial Services Company field offices. The coin is circular, with a diameter of 30.0 mm and a weight of 13.5 grammes, made of 75% copper and 25% nickel.

The obverse face of the coin features a waxing crescent moon and a five-pointed northwest-facing star in the centre, with the words ‘Islami Jamhuria Pakistan’ printed in Urdu writing along the periphery, on top of the crescent star.

The year of issuance lies underneath the crescent and on top of two springs of wheat with arms bent upward. On the right and left sides of the star, the face value of the currency is printed in bold characters as ’50’ and ‘Rupia’ in Urdu script.

The symbol of the Senate of Pakistan is featured on the reverse side and in the middle of the coin, with artistic numerical writing of 50 on the right hand side.

Together with the perimeter, the inscription ‘Pakistan Senate Golden Jubilee’ in Urdu writing is inscribed on the top of the emblem. Below the emblem is inscribed the span of the golden jubilee (1973-2023).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
