The initiative, led by the Madinah Development Authority (MDA), aims to enhance the environment and improve the overall experience for worshippers and visitors.
The MDA has been focusing on various projects to create a comfortable atmosphere around the holy site. Measures include planting trees along the roads, providing seating areas, and using special materials such as heat-resistant marble on sidewalks and pedestrian areas to lower the temperature. Unauthorized vehicles are also restricted from entering, helping maintain a cooler environment. Additionally, designated pathways have been established to facilitate easy movement from hotels to the courtyards of the Prophet’s Mosque.

To ensure the comfort of worshippers, over 245 umbrellas with built-in fans that spray mist to cool the area have been placed in the mosque’s courtyards. This provides protection from the sun’s heat and offers relief from the hot weather.
As a significant number of pilgrims visit Madinah after completing the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah, the Madinah mayoralty has deployed more than 9,900 workers at the site to offer quality services and ensure a comfortable visit for all visitors.
