Share

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) has announced that Neom, a project in Saudi Arabia, will compete with Miami in terms of entertainment, culture, sports, and retail.

The project aims to create the world’s first smart city without roads, cars, or emissions. MBS emphasized that Neom is intended to establish a new civilization for the future and inspire other nations to undertake similar initiatives for the planet’s benefit.

The Crown Prince described Neom as a pioneering effort in city-building and living, meeting the future needs of the people of Saudi Arabia. The project, known as THE LINE, is expected to revolutionize urban living and address the country’s growing population, projected to double by 2030.

MBS mentioned collaborating with global designers and selecting the best concept, eventually turning the circular city model into a straight line. The city’s development is already underway, with the first phase aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. Neom, estimated to be 33 times the size of New York City, holds significant economic potential.

MBS acknowledged the diverse topography of the unexplored northwest region and emphasized the incorporation of art into the entire city. In response to criticism, the Crown Prince expressed confidence in proving detractors wrong.
