Saudi Arabia has initiated trials of self-driving air taxis during Hajj 2024, marking the world’s first such service licensed by a civil aviation authority.

Launched by the Transport General Authority, these electric air taxis are designed to improve transportation for pilgrims between Makkah and Madinah, facilitate emergency travel, and offer logistics services. This innovative initiative aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to promote sustainable and AI-powered transport solutions within the Kingdom.
