Saudi Arabia has launched its first hydrogen-powered bus, marking a significant step toward sustainable transportation.
The bus will operate between Dammam and Al Ahsa, covering 359 kilometers daily and accommodating up to 45 passengers. This trial supports the kingdom’s push for modern, eco-friendly transport solutions.
Inaugurated by Al Ahsa Governor Prince Saud bin Talal, the project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision to embrace innovative and green technologies.
The Saudi Transport General Authority (TGA) emphasized that this initiative reflects their commitment to reducing carbon emissions and enhancing public transport quality.
This project complements other green initiatives, including hydrogen-powered taxis and electric trucks, showcasing Saudi Arabia’s dedication to environmental sustainability and technological advancement.
By adopting hydrogen-powered transport, Saudi Arabia aims to reduce pollution and lead in sustainable development, encouraging more eco-friendly solutions across the region.
This step is part of the kingdom’s broader strategy to balance economic growth with environmental protection, symbolizing its commitment to a cleaner, sustainable future.
